The Binding (Akedah) is an installation at Weir Art Farm in the Nod Hill Refuge. I dyed muslin fabric green and created tielines to join a smaller tree to a larger tree. Both trees fell due to the severity of Hurricane Irene in 2011. Ceramic tea bowls were carefully placed and left on branches. Viewers were invited to enter this natural yet colonized habitat. The piece was site specific and ephemeral. It was installed on June 23 - 24, 2012 on a large fallen oak tree.
